Professional development course which can be organized upon request of a group of active teachers of Spanish as a Foreign Language.

Update of teaching tools and strategies which are key in the Spanish as a Foreign Language class: development of skills, motivation of the teacher trainees, action-oriented grammar teaching, incorporation of intercultural competence, use of new technologies, and so on.

INTENSIVE COURSE – mornings and afternoons: 30 class hours + ACTIVITIES

Course programme

Section 1. What do I teach? Can I do it EVEN better?
Update and tools for teaching grammar and vocabulary, the development of skills and the intercultural communicative competence of the Spanish as a Foreign Language students.

Section 2. What do my books teach? What can I do with them?
How to identify possible problems in the material and how to solve them. Differences between monolingual and plurilingual classes, and between immersion and non-immersion contexts.

Section 3. Who do I teach? Students and the 21st century Spanish as a Foreign Language class
How to motive students. Learning individual variables. New technologies and audiovisual resources in the Spanish as a Foreign Language class. The role of games.

The course includes a guided tour of Alicante, a welcome cocktail, and a guided tour of the Spanish civil war shelters.
