FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT SCHOLARSHIPS FOR LANGUAGE COURSES AND OFFICIAL EXAMS AT THE LANGUAGE CENTRE OF THE UNIVERSITY OF ALICANTE

UA SCHOLARSHIPS – STUDENT SERVICE
AULAS COURSES

- Students enrolled in official Bachelor's degree studies at the UA at the time of registering for the CSI course and who maintain said enrollment during the course period.
- These scholarships may also be awarded to Master's or Doctoral students, provided they are enrolled in said studies when registering for the Language Centre course and maintain their enrollment throughout the year. However, undergraduate students will have preference.
- The amount of this grant will be €300. You only have to pay €75, which includes course materials.
- The deadline to apply for study grants and scholarships coincides with the enrollment period.
- Applications submitted after the deadline established in the call will be excluded from the awarding process.
Recommendations:
- Check the website, in the languages section, for enrollment dates.
- Do not wait until the last day of enrollment since all courses have a limited number of places and enrollment will be carried out in strict order of arrival of duly completed applications.
- Have registered for the language courses at the Language Centre.
- Be enrolled in official Bachelor's degree studies at the UA (exceptionally Master's or Doctorate) at the time of registering for the CSI course and maintain said enrollment during the course period.
- Not be a beneficiary of any other type of grants or forms of financing, for the same purpose, whatever their public or private origin, to which the student body may have access for the same language course.
- These scholarships will not be awarded to people who, having been beneficiaries in previous calls, had abandoned the course and/or had not taken the evaluation test.
- Foreign students must prove authorization of residence/stay in Spain.
- Students will identify themselves in the grant application with their DNI/NIE; applications where the identification is a passport will not be accepted.
The Scholarship application is submitted electronically.
Process: Complete the online registration form, accompanied by the required documentation (Form 145 and responsible declaration), and have made the payment of €75.
In the case of students with tax residence abroad, it will be necessary to submit the supplier form and a Certificate of Tax Residence in their country.
- Allocate the scholarship to the purpose for which it is granted, understood as such enrollment, class attendance (80%) and taking the evaluation tests.
- Notify the University, through the Language Centre, of the cancellation of enrollment, as well as any alteration of the conditions taken into account for the granting of the scholarship.
- Proceed with the payment of the language course tuition (€300) in the event of not using the scholarship for the purpose for which it was granted. The university will notify the beneficiary of this circumstance so that they can proceed to pay the claimed amount.
- When the application does not meet the requirements or is not accompanied by the required documentation, the applicant will be notified of the cause that prevents the continuation of the procedure.
- A period of ten days will be granted, counting from the day following its publication on the website, https://sa.ua.es/es/becas/otras-becas-y-ayudas/becas-para-realizar-cursos-de-idiomas-en-el-centro-superior-de-idiomas.html, so that interested parties can allege and present the documents and justifications they deem pertinent.

- The Rector of the University of Alicante will agree on the definitive resolution of the call and it will be published on the website https://sa.ua.es/es/becas/otras-becas-y-ayudas/becas-para-realizar-cursos-de-idiomas-en-el-centro-superior-de-idiomas.html, along with the list of those who have obtained a scholarship.
You must drop the course or pay the course tuition fee, if you are a UA student (€300), if you are an EXTE student (€320).
Once the enrollment period has ended, no amount will be refunded.
Cancellation implies the non-refund of the €75 for materials as established in the refund policy.
A minimum number of students will be necessary to form a group. Only in the event of cancellation of a group by AULAS will the full payment made be refunded.
INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS SCHOLARSHIPS
TYPE 1 GRANTS – AULAS COURSES

- Students enrolled in official Bachelor's degree studies at the UA at the time of registering for the CSI course and who maintain said enrollment during the course period.
- Have passed the activity for which the grant is requested.
- The amount of this grant will be €300.
- Possess the nationality of a country of the European Union or third countries (in which case they must prove that they possess a valid permit to reside in Spain), so that they have a NIF or NIE.
- The subsidized activity must have been carried out within the deadline set by the period.
- Notify the university of the obtaining of subsidies or scholarships for the same purpose, from any national or international public or private administration or entity.
- Inform the university of the cancellation of UA enrollment, as well as any alteration of the conditions taken into account for granting the scholarship.
- Guarantee, under their responsibility, that the data and documents presented for obtaining and justifying the subsidy by the beneficiary are true.
- Present, in the form established by the UA, the document for Communicating data to the payer for IRPF purposes (Form 145).
The call will be published in the BOUA for informational purposes prior to the publication of its extract in the DOGV.
Two application periods will open:
- The first period to apply for the grant will be for courses passed between September and December.
- The second application period will be for courses between January and August.

Once the form is completed, you must click the accept button and you will obtain a registration number that must be kept.
The application form must be completed as many times as grants are requested.
- The subsidized activity must have been carried out within the deadline set by the period.
- Notify the university of the obtaining of subsidies or scholarships for the same purpose, from any national or international public or private administration or entity.
- Inform the university of the cancellation of UA enrollment, as well as any alteration of the conditions taken into account for granting the scholarship.
- Guarantee, under their responsibility, that the data and documents presented for obtaining and justifying the subsidy by the beneficiary are true.
- Present, in the form established by the UA, the document for Communicating data to the payer for IRPF purposes (Form 145).
- In addition, the obligations of the beneficiaries, the acceptance and justification of the grant, are those contemplated in article 14 of Law 38/2003, General Subsidies Law, among which are:
- Carry out the activity that bases the granting of the aid in the terms established in these regulatory bases and other applicable regulations.
- Submit to the actions, verification, monitoring, and evaluation of the managing unit and internal and external control bodies.
- Keep the supporting documents of the activity, once carried out, including electronic documents, as long as they can be subject to verification and control actions.
After receiving the applications, a provisional list of admitted and excluded applications will be drawn up and a correction period of 10 working days will be established from the day following its publication. Once this period has elapsed, the definitive list of admitted and excluded applications will be drawn up, which will be sent to the assessment committee for evaluation.
Subsequently, the provisional resolution proposal for the grants will be published starting the day after its publication. Interested parties will have a period of 10 working days to present the allegations they deem pertinent to the managing body.
Once this period has elapsed and, where appropriate, the allegations presented have been resolved, the Rector will dictate the definitive resolution of the concession.
INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS SCHOLARSHIPS
TYPE 2 GRANTS – OFFICIAL FOREIGN LANGUAGE EXAMS

These grants are aimed only at undergraduate students. The amount of this grant will be up to €200.
- Be enrolled at the University of Alicante during the academic year in studies leading to an official Bachelor's Degree.
- Have passed the activity for which the grant is requested in the period between September and August of the same academic year in which the student is enrolled at the UA.
- Possess the nationality of a country of the European Union or third countries (in which case they must prove that they possess a valid permit to reside in Spain), so that they have a NIF or NIE.

- Once the form is completed, you must click the accept button and you will obtain a registration number that must be kept.

- Receipt of the fees paid
- Title or document proving the passing of the test.

- Inform the university of the cancellation of UA enrollment, as well as any alteration of the conditions taken into account for granting the scholarship.
- Guarantee, under their responsibility, that the data and documents presented for obtaining and justifying the subsidy by the beneficiary are true.
