These exams are certified by ACLES (Association of University Language Centres), which means that, in accordance with Decree 61/2013, published at DOCV on 20/05/2013 those who pass these examinations will have them recognized by the University of Alicante and for competitive examinations, other public examinations, and so on, inside the Valencian Region. Additionally, these examinations are also recognized by the CRUE (Conference of Spanish Universities’ Rectors) so that they can be certified at Spanish Universities.
For other institutions, the decision to accept or not the certification exam relies on such institutions. Please, check directly with the institution where you would like to present them.

The level is considered to be achieved if the final total grade is 60% or above it. Candidates will not receive a final grade if they do not have a minimum of 50% in each exam section/skill.

1. 1.- You need to send the renounce form addressed to the Language Centre, attaching a certificate to prove the force majeure cause for requesting the fees’ reimbursement to this email.
2. 2.- Later, through UACloud, for fees’ reimbursement of the ACLES exam, you must log in: "UACloud-eAdministración- Trámites - Académicos: Solicitud de devolución de tasas". You must complete the form and in “Motivos” (Reasons why) you must choose the following: Renouncing registration within the registration dates/Disability/Double Payment/Single-parent Family/Large Family/Victim of Terrorism/Victim of Gender Violence. Add the bank account where you want to be reimbursed and the attached documents. Attach the ACLES payment receipt and click on next. In a few days, you will receive an answer from uss, and a bit later an answer from the University.

Force majeure causes are the following: an urgent surgical operation, an accident, and so on. The following are not force majeure causes: having passed another language exam or subject that certify the level, or even if you have a general practitioner’s appointment.

If you have not renounced within the corresponding dates as it is stated in the previous question, you will not be entitled to fees’ reimbursement, EVEN IF YOU DO NOT ATTEND THE EXAM.

As it is an official certificate, in order to be issued you need to pay €27,34 as fees. The certificate is subject to the same payment discounts stated for exam fees. To get such certification, you must do the following:

• Step 1: Get the fees receipt: you can get it by writing an email to This email address is being protected from spambots. You will also have to say if you are entitled to any type of discount due to large family, victim of terrorism or disability. You will be sent a receipt in pdf as an attachment to an email.
• Step 2: Pay for the fees: you will be able to do it in any of the banks detailed in the payment receipt, in the ATMs belonging to those banks which have a barcode reader, or through your virtual campus. • Step 3: Pick up your certificate:: it takes approximately 10 working days for it to be ready, as long as Alicante University is not in the middle of a reduced administrative period. Check the reduced administrative period dates on the university website. Once the certificate is ready, you will be notified so that you can come to pick it up at the Language Centre. You must show your National Identification card to be able to pick it up. If you send someone to pick it up, this person will have to show an authorization signed by you, together with a copy of your National Identification Card. You can also request have your certificate sent to you by post. The Language Centre is not responsible for any postal loss, therefore, if the letter is lost and you require a new certificate, you will have to pay again for the issuing fees. In order to request an exam and/or grade review, you must complete the following link within the review dates which appear on the exams’ calendar.

This option is only valid for Alicante University students. You do not need to anything. Once final gradeshave been recorded and published, your ACLES grade will be automatically included to your academic record. A few days later, you will be able to see your grade by logging into your academic record on Virtual campus and choosing “Language certification and teaching training”. The ACLES certificate does not have an expiration date, which means that once you obtain it, it is always valid.

There are not preparation courses, but there are 15-hour preparation workshops in which you will be explained what the exam consists of and do full exams from previous years with the teacher’s corrections and assessment. Check the dates and prices of the English preparation workshops.
