Course for future teachers of Spanish as a foreign language, with an introduction to the different aspects which will be part of their professional life. The course is blending learning: the in-person sessions are completed with online work on a learning platform and guided and supervised observation of Spanish classes at Alicante University Language Centre, reinforcing this way the practical approach of this initial training course for teachers of Spanish as a Foreign Language.
With a total duration of 50 hours
30h in-person sessions + 15h online platform + 5h supervised observation of classes

Course planning
The course is divided in three large topic sections, taught during three weekends (Fridays afternoons/evenings and Saturday mornings) and a practical section of class observation. The course general distribution is as follows:
Week 1: Introduction to the teaching of Spanish as a second and foreign language. (10 hours)
Week 2: Contents of the Spanish as a Foreign Language class. (10 hours)
Week 3: Class observations. (5 hours)
Week 4: Spanish as a Foreign Language materials in the 21st century. (10 hours)
Each of the sessions in which the sections are divided will be taught by a teacher specialized in the topic in question, both from the Arts Faculty and the Language Centre. Check the full course programme.
Online contents:
Activities, readings and forums alongside the course sessions, which will be supervised and moderated by the coordinators.
Practical section:
5-hour guided and supervised observation of Spanish as a foreign language at Alicante University Language Centre, with an obligatory observation report as a learning/assessment tool.
