Bachelor’s degree in Translation and Interpreting by Alicante University (Spanish, French, Russian, and Italian) and PhD in Applied Linguistics for Second Language Acquisition, with a thesis focused on Academic Spanish. She completed her academic studies at François Rabelais University in Tours (France) and Artesis Hogeschool Antwerpen – Higher Institute for Translators and Interpreters (HIVT) in Antwerp (Belgium). Her Spanish as a Foreign Language training began at Alicante University in 2007 and was later completed at at Cervantes Institute and International House in Barcelona. She began her Spanish as a Foreign Language teaching career at the HIVT in Antwerp University (Belgium) and continued in various centres in Italy and the USA. From 2011 to 2018, she taught the Academic Spanish Course for international students at Alicante University, organized by AcqUA research group and the Department of Spanish Language, General Linguistics, and Literary Theory. She also directed and taught the two editions of the Academic Spanish Course for American students in the Spanish Studies Abroad Programme, organised by AcqUA and Spanish Studies Abroad at Alicante University. She currently focuses her teaching at Alicante University Language Centre, where she is a teacher in the Spanish and English areas. As a teacher, she combines Spanish as a Foreign Language courses with content courses in English (Spanish Culture, Interculturality, Gastronomy, etc.) for university students from the USA (CIEE, USAC, CEA, Spanish Studies Abroad, KISS, Duke University programmes) and the UK (De Montfort University, Open University), in addition to training future Spanish as a Foreign Language teachers and active American teachers. She is a certified DELE examiner at Alicante University. Currently, her research lines on teaching and learning languages for specific purposes, particularly Academic Spanish (EA), alternate with a growing interest in the learning difficulties of students in both their native and second languages.
