Obligations regarding EU citizen immigration

Citizens of a Member State of the E.U. or of another State party to the EEA Agreement. who are going to reside in Spain for a period of more than three months, are obliged to personally request before the Foreigners Office of the province where they intend to stay or establish their residence or, failing that, before the corresponding Police Station, their registration in the Central Registry of Foreigners

As a European student, you must register with the local authorities if you are going to stay here for more than 3 months. Before this you will receive your NIE number, which is required to open a bank account and use the Spanish National Health Service.

To register you must follow the steps outlined below:

1. Fill in online and print the following:
   1. Application Form; X-18
   2. Payment slip: https://sede.policia.gob.es/Tasa790_012/

2. Go to a any Bank or "Caja de Ahorros"with the payment slip €12 and pay the amount in cash.
3. Get appointment: https://sede.administracionespublicas.gob.es/pagina/index/directorio/icpplus
4. Go to the Central Police Station in Alicante with the following documents:
   1. Application Form.
   2. Payment slip.
   3. One passport photo.
   4. Your ID card or Passport and a photocopy
   5. Your European Health Card and a photocopy
   6. Confirmation of your  UA-Erasmus status (make sure that your ID number in the letter is the same as the one you are going to present)
